Equipment

A new technology that assists farmers and agricultural professionals with enhanced production and greater efficiency.

How it works

Who can be nominated?

Approved exhibitors at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show can apply for the  Innovations Program to showcase an innovative solution for Canadian farmers and be in the running for a Farmers’ Choice Award. Applications for 2026 will open in the new year! The Selection Committee reviews the applications and selects the finalists (one or more in a category, depending on the number of entries).

How are the winners selected?

A selection committee determines the best entry in each category based on eligibility, relevance and quality of the application. The winner in each category will be announced live on Monday, September 14, during the evening Innovations in Agriculture Reception.

How does the Farmers' Choice Award work?

Once the winners are selected, each company is put forward for the Farmers’ Choice Award. Votes are collected through the Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show website the week following the show and the final Farmers’ Choice Award winner is announced on Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show social media platforms and website.

Agronomics

Spornado| Spornado Sampler

Spornado is an early alert system for crop disease that brings molecular diagnostics to agriculture; providing farmers the data needed to choose and use their fungicides more effectively. Our easy to use and inexpensive air sampler allows them to know when crop disease is in the air long before it’s seen in the field, enabling them to spray precisely; saving time, money, and increasing yields, while improving sustainability.

Business Solutions

Lactanet Canada | Transition Management Index (TMI)

The Transition Management Index (TMI) is the first tool available in Ontario designed to provide an objective, comprehensive, and global assessment of the transition period in dairy cows. This innovation empowers producers to optimize management practices during the critical transition period, leading to improved milk production and profitability.

Environmental Sustainability

LaSalle Agri Inc.| AgroBoost

AgroBoost is a sustainable fertilizer that has diverted over 100,000 metric tons per year of nutrient-dense materials from landfills, providing significant economic, environmental, and social benefits to farmers and all Canadians. GHG emissions are avoided, which is the equivalent of taking 136,910 cars off the road per year. Rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and organic matter, it improves soil health, strengthens plants, and boosts yields.

Equipment

Haggerty AgRobotics | Monarch Electric Tractor

This is a fully functional 70hp electric tractor, with standard hydraulics and PTO. It can operate for over 10 hours per day on a charge. The Monarch is enabled with autonomous functionality, enabling it to drive by itself through orchards or vineyards. The tractor also can image the plants as it passes by, and upload those images to the cloud for the farmer to view at a later date.

Livestock

BioFerScience Inc. | ProFlora Cattle ENERGY-BALANCE Capsule

ProFlora Post-Calving Calcium Bolus stands out by offering more than just calcium support. Its unique formulation, which includes three forms of calcium and probiotics, not only helps prevent milk fever but also promotes healthier rumen fermentation. This leads to improved digestion and a smoother postpartum recovery for the cow.
