Research and Tire-Kicking to Inform Your Decisions

Schedule

Tuesday, July 13, 2021 (All Times Eastern Daylight Time)

Be sure to join us on July 13 to hear updates on new non-chemical weed control options in field crops, electric drive vehicles, farm machinery design and much more!

Welcome to Research and Tire-Kicking

John Greig, Editor of Farmtario, sets the stage for the July 13 digital event day with an overview about what you can learn today.

New Innovations in Mechanical Weed Control

Many weeds have evolved to be resistant to common herbicides, creating growing challenges with weed control. That means inter-row cultivation seems to be making a comeback, reducing herbicide use and helping with those problem resistant weeds. Innovators are creating new and more precise ways of killing weeds, some without even needing to till the soil. In this session, join Host Kristy Nudds, Associate Editor of Farmtario, and she looks at some of the devices being engineered for non-chemical weed control, including a camera-guided system to take out weeds without hitting the growing crop.

Brandt XT-Series Grain Cart Showcase

The all-new XT-Series Grain Cart from Brandt makes loading and unloading easier than ever, delivering the longest forward auger reach, side auger reach, and discharge spout clearance in the industry. Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the XT-Series, the features that set them apart, and the customer driven insights that inspired these industry-leading innovations.

Choosing the Right Adjuvant with Group 1 Herbicides

Volunteer corn can be difficult to control in soybeans and edible beans. An adjuvant can make the difference for optimum performance. Join Darren McColm, Agronomy Manager-Eastern Canada, with WinField United Canada for this LIVE presentation on Zoom.

Coffee Break

Tracking Electric Drive Development

As governments look to meet their Paris Accord greenhouse gas reduction targets, engine emissions reductions have become a key focus, and Canada is no exception. The pace at which electric drives are starting to replace internal combustion engines to try and meet those targets is gaining speed. In this segment, Machinery Writer Scott Garvey takes a look at the growth in electric drive for vehicles, trucks and off-road machines, and he examines how electric drives have changed many aspects of farm machinery design.

Agronomy, Soybeans & Corn: Visit the Maizex Plot

Learn what’s new from Maizex Seeds this year with this informative session on corn and soybeans with Maizex experts and a farmer from Brigden, Ontario.

Cold, Hot, Dry, Wet! Lessons from 2021

Immediately following the Maizex tour session, Maizex experts host a live roundtable on Zoom to discuss the four lessons they have learned in the field in 2021.
