Fendt Momentum Crop Tour
Welcome to the 2020 Fendt Momentum Virtual Crop Tour, with findings from the 5th year of AGCO Crop Tour on-farm planting demonstrations, our education-based program designed to help corn producers improve stand establishment and optimize yields. At Fendt Momentum Crop Tour locations across the Corn Belt in the US, the team asked new questions about the effects of soil compaction created by central-fill planters and demonstrated best planting practices. The results reveal ways growers can lessen the yield impact of wheel traffic and pinch-row compaction and maximize yields by planting seed with proper depth, downforce and spacing.

Shawn Livingston
Eastern Canada Regional Manager, Precision Planting

Presentation: The Planter Feeds the Combine

Overview: Everyone enjoys sitting in the combine and harvesting the crop of their lives...but are we capturing top potential from the start? The planter pass sets the stage for seed performance every year. Join Shawn Livingston, Eastern Canada Regional Manager, Precision Planting, as he talks through the planter bar and items that have an agronomic impact.

Profile: As a kid working alongside my father in the dairy industry, I learned that I had a passion for growing crops. Realizing that the crops fed our cows that fed us, and everyone else, I started pushing the limits while trying new things. This led me to working with a couple large cash crop farms always learning more about soil, crops and fertility. I then switched from the tractor seat to working with a local Ag Retailer, and this really allowed me to do what I loved: research and plots. By doing it and learning, we could bring the knowledge to growers in the area. In 2018, I was given the chance to join Precision Planting and work alongside many great ag-focused people. My wife and two boys, ages 15 and 13, live north of Arthur, Ontario where we enjoy the rural settings and the outdoors.
