Demos & Programming

Canada's Digital Farm Show was a digital event that delivered interactive content from the field to the farm. There were equipment demos, agricultural technology, crop plot tours, livestock-focused and crop-based learning, and webinars to help you manage your farm during uncertain times.

Through this innovative reimagined format, Canada's Digital Farm Show gave farmers a unique vantage point to experience what's new in agriculture hosted by Glacier FarmMedia journalists from familiar brands like The Western Producer, Country Guide, Canadian Cattlemen and Farmtario.

Couldn't make the event days or need a re-cap? All Canada's Digital Farm Show content is now open for you to explore!

See below to find the different categories of all the sessions.

Equipment Demos

Equipment demos, a favourite of the regular in-person event, will be a highlight at Canada’s Digital Farm Show and will provide a look at baling equipment, planters and UTVs.

The Advancements in Bale Wrapping Technology Demo will show farmers new options available for producing large round and square bales. Features like on-the-go bale ejection, on-the-go wrapping, automatic density control, bale identification and ease of loading net wrap and plastic wrap will be highlighted during this demo. This demo will feature Plus2™ Accumulator, John Deere; 5300 Quadrant, CLAAS Dealers of Ontario; FastBale, Kubota Canada Ltd.; MF RB4160P, AGCO.

The Soybean Planting Demo will showcase new equipment from a number of companies planting at a consistent depth of 1.5”. A field of corn stalks was chosen because up to 50% of soybeans planted each year are planted into fields that had grown corn the previous year. This demo will feature the Great Plains YP625-12TR, Kubota Canada Ltd.; Fendt Momentum, AGCO; 1745 Compact Planter, John Deere; TK7600 Series Row Unit, HFL Fabricating; and Concord NT30, Leading Edge Equipment Ltd.

The UTV Ride & Drive will feature UTVs supplied by dealers that will be put through their paces on a challenging test course, comparing the performance, features and benefits of various machines to determine which model will best suit your operation. The UTV Ride & Drive is presented by BKT Tires, and will feature machines from Kubota Canada Ltd., Mahindra and CanAm.

Crop Plot Tours, presented by AgExpert

Each year while walking Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, farmers are able to see crop plots around the grounds and talk with agronomists about the best choices for their fields. This year Canada’s Digital Farm Show will be offering this through live Crop Plot Tours taking place each day. Companies have been working at the site in Woodstock, Ontario to prepare plots that will be featured in these virtual crop plot tours. The tours will give farmers the advice they need for their next growing season, and company reps will be available to chat on the digital platform.

Stay tuned for times to watch Pride Seeds, Maizex Seeds, Sevita International, ALPINE® and Bayer talk about genetics, traits, seed varieties and agronomic details while walking through the plots.

Knowledge Centre, presented by Libro Credit Union

Times have changed, and managing the new normal in agriculture is on the mind of all members within the ag community. Where can you find answers to real-life problems? The Knowledge Centre at Canada’s Digital Farm Show was made specifically to address today’s hot topics and give farmers the information they’re looking for.

Experienced and well-known editors from the Glacier FarmMedia team will act as hosts, interviewing experts and asking hard-hitting questions through ag-focused presentations, panel discussions, live chat Q&As and informative webinars. Covering topics from food trends and market opportunities to the emergency of written farm business plans, farmers have a wide variety to choose from. Other topics explore the opportunities to build public trust, especially amid the public criticism of agriculture and a look into the trajectory of food trends in a post-COVID-19 world.

The Innovations Showcase will be delivered through engaging videos that group the four product categories together, hosted by Farmtario editor John Greig.

The main goal of the Innovations Showcase is to connect farmers with the latest technology. New products that feature ground-breaking technology across the agri-business, crop and seed, equipment and livestock categories will be displayed in the Exhibitor Showcase. Farmers will be able to find detailed information about the products and easily connect with the associated company. As state-of-the-art technology in agriculture is being revealed constantly, it is important for farmers to stay informed so that production practices are continually improving, efficiency is maximized, costs are kept manageable, and productivity is at an all-time high.
