Sheep and Beef Handling Demos Return

Farmers interested in purchasing new handling equipment for their farms will want to mark the live handling demonstrations happening at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) as a must see part of their visit.

There will be six opportunities, two each day, on September 12, 13 & 14, 2017 for farmers to see innovative new livestock handling equipment and technology in action.

Huber Ag Equipment Ltd. and Brussels Agri Service in conjunction with the Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency (OSMA) and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) have partnered together to present two sheep handling demonstrations each day of COFS. The sheep handling demonstrations will be held between the OSMA and Huber Ag Equipment Ltd. exhibits on 8th Lane at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day.

An exciting component to see at the sheep-handling demo will be the Ritchie Combi Clamp presented by Huber Ag Equipment Ltd. This ‘hands-free’ revolutionary piece of equipment makes handling sheep easier for both the operator and the animal. Be sure to stop by the OSMA booth for the sheep-handling demonstration to see it in action.

Beef producers will want to make their way to Brussels Agri Services at the corner of 8th Lane and North Mall for one of the two cattle-handling demonstrations taking place this year. This demonstration will highlight the Arrowquip 86 Series cattle squeeze chute alongside the new Gallagher Touch Screen Livestock Scales. This will be the first opportunity for beef producers to see this new technology in action, and learn more about what it can do to improve their operations at home. The Arrow Cattle Handling System will be demonstrated daily at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The Hi-Hog cattle handling demonstrations will make their return to COFS once again in 2017. Beef producers will be able to transition easily from one demonstration of cattle handling to the next with the Hi-Hog cattle handling demonstration taking place at 10:30 a.m. following the Arrow demonstrations and then preceeding in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Beef producers can see the full range of a Hi-Hog Cattle Handling System as actual live cattle move through each feature of the Hi-Hog setup. These demonstrations will be held at the corner of 9th Lane and North Mall.

Livestock producers of both the beef and sheep industries will find lots to see at COFS this September 12, 13 & 14, 2017. The latest products, experts, and actual live demonstration of equipment can help every producer to make the most informed and productive choice for their operation, whether it is a completely new system or just upgrading the current setup.
