OnTrace is making its presence felt this year with free tickets and more! Not only will OnTrace be registering Premises IDs on-site at COFS, but they will also be conducting traceability workshops aimed at educating those in the agricultural production and processing sectors on the benefits of Premises ID.
"Currently, registering your premises in the Ontario Agri-food Premises Registry (OAPR) is voluntary. OnTrace owns and operates the OAPR and is working hard to register all agriculture and food parcels of land in the province of Ontario for the purposes of emergency management," explains Brian Sterling, Chief Executive Officer of OnTrace Agri-food Traceability. "We need to encourage farmers, processors, truckers, distributors and retailers to see the value and benefits of registering their premises."
Workshops will be conducted twice daily; once at 10 a.m. and once at 2 p.m. These workshops will allow both producers and processors the chance to speak with traceability experts and find out just how valuable traceability can be to them and their facilities.
"Canada's Outdoor Farm Show is a unique event to reach everyone in the industry who can benefit from traceability and Premises Identification. We want to reach this audience in the most effective and convincing way possible," says Sterling.
As added incentive, farmers and producers registering their premises at the September Show will also receive a fantastic free gift. OnTrace will be giving away a pair of uniquely imprinted Canadian-made rubber ‘wellie’ boots to all those registering their premises onsite during COFS.
Make sure to visit OnTrace at their big new corner lot located at Upper Machinery Mall and 2nd Lane to register for your Premises ID and to attend the workshops.
But why wait until September? To register your Premises ID before August 27th and win one free adult admission ticket to Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, please visit www.ontraceagrifood.com or call 1-888-38-TRACE (7223).
