    NEW MANURE SPILL DEMO

  • Spills happen--and farmers should be prepare. In the Manure Spill Demonstration, the experts at OMAFRA will lead farmers through a mock spill scenario using water as the waste and a ditch that was prepared at their exhibit earlier this summer. The scenario will walk attendees through steps that can be taken in the event of a spill, including eliminating the source of the spill and containing it as quickly as possible to prevent the manure from spreading.

  • Farm & Food Care (FFC) will be back at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show at a new outdoor location with more space for livestock producers to test two different Euthanasia guns, the Zephyr and the newly improved TED. Brand new this year, FFC will be introducing the new Innovative Management & Practical Animal Care Training (IMPACT) Program that is designed to help producers improve their animal welfare practices in ways that are practical to their operation.

  • 110 calves and 26 lambs will pass through the GYADC this summer as part of two nutritional and management trials. Each trial is uniquely designed, allowing us to test new products, refine our management recommendations and experiment with innovations in feeding and housing technology. First introduced to North America in 2013, the Calf Rail by Förster Technik will be seen again this year as an automated feeding system for individually housed calves.
