Cover-All Dairy Innovation Centre – featuring Lely & DeLaval
- After some major renovations this spring, including a 20’ addition and floor plan redesign, the Dairy Innovation Centre will be showcasing the Lely Astronaut A3 Milking System and the DeLaval Voluntary Milking System, VMS in a live side-by-side demonstration. The Cover-All Dairy Innovation Centre will be divided in half with both robots located in the centre and operating simultaneously on two herds of 35 cows each. This first in North America robotic demonstration, along with other exciting technologies and products from our many dairy sponsors, will make this Cover-All Dairy Innovation Centre a MUST-SEE for dairy producers everywhere.

Grober Young Animal
Development Centre
- This spring Grober Nutrition will begin research on its first group of young animals including calves and kids. The six-month research program will centre on nutrition, housing and overall health of young animals, culminating in September at the 2009 Show. Visitors to the Show will see feeding and housing trials in progress showcasing technologies from Germany & Italy, as well as results from previous groups of young animals reared in the facility.
Dr. R. Blowey & Herd Hoof Health
- Britain's leading expert on lameness is Dr. Blowey, who is sponsored at the Show by Provita. Author of several books, he share his expertise by offering twice-daily discussions entitled "Stawberry Foot CAN Be Controlled," focusing on strategies to control digital dermatitis in dairy cows. Discussions will be held daily at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm in the Mulit-Shelter Pavilion on 7th Lane NW

Solar Pumping & Grazing Demo
- The Lely Voyager automatic grazing system will be a feature of this demo. With two solar-powered, self-propelled and GPS-guided robots, it eliminates the need to move fencing for optimal grazing. Solar-powered fencing from Kane and Gallagher will be featured, while the Kelln Solar Pump will move water over 2,000 ft. to paddocks.
Gencor Dairy Pavilion
- As the lead exhibitor in the Gencor Dairy Producers Pavilion housed in the Cover-All building at the southeast corner of the Show, Gencor will feature an outstanding Daughter Display of Prominent Semex Alliance sires. Gencor is pleased to welcome back for the next 3 years, the Jersey Ontario exhibit which will feature 3 outstanding Jersey individuals. A busy display area where producers can be interactive with breed associations, industry service providers and farmer directed marketing, the Gencor Dairy Producers Pavilion is a must see exhibit especially on Thursday, "Dairy Day."
Beef Expo
- The Beef Tent will feature some the most progressive breed associations in Ontario, showcasing animals that best represent their breed traits. This tent will also host a variety of beef industry partners. The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) will amalgamate all of their livestock experts into one central location in 2009 in order to better assist producers with multiple livestock types on their farms. This centralized exhibit will be located at the north end of 8th Lane
SWINE Expo
- The open-air marketplace on the south end of 7th Lane will feature swine industry equipment and services, as well as feed and management technologies / services to assist hog producers.

- The open-air marketplace on the south end of 7th Lane will feature industry equipment and services, as well as feed and management technologies / services to assist poultry producers from the broiler, layer and turkey sectors (no birds on-site).
- A VIP Poultry Producers’ Lunch will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Special Events Tent by the Ducks Unlimited Wetland Pond. This networking opportunity is “by invitation only” and sponsored by Maple Lodge Farms, Ontario Poultry Farmer Magazine and Farm Credit Canada.
SHEEP/GOAT Expo
- With interest growing in this category, sheep handling will be featured with interactive demos on advance record keeping, using electronic RFID tags and hand-held reading and recording devices.

Robot-Ready Dairy Heifer Auction
- In response to demand for heifers trained on robotic milkers, the demonstration herd at the Show will be auctioned off at noon on Thursday, September 17, in the Cover-All Dairy Innovation Centre – featuring Lely & DeLaval, using electronic RFID tags and hand-held reading and recording devices to keep bidders informed on pedigree & milking data.
Quality Carcass Competition
- Back by popular demand Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will once again be hosting a carcass competition for Ontario Beef Producers to showcase their animals. Cattle will be on display for the three days of the Show where attendees will have the opportunity to learn about grading an animal and enter their top picks in a draw to win meat from the winning carcass.
VIP Dairy Producers Brunch
- Due to the overwhelming success of these networking events, three brunch/lunch initiatives will be offered this year by SPONSOR INVITATION ONLY to include Crops, Dairy and Poultry producers held over the three days of the Show at various locations.
